About the Author
Daniel Miyares has illustrated books such as Bambino and Mr. Twain and Waking Up is Hard to Do. Pardon Me! was his first adventure as an author/illustrator, followed by Float. He earned a BFA in illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2002 and has since worked for Hallmark Cards Inc. Daniel currently lives near Kansas City with his lovely wife and their two small children.

This is one of the most beautifully illustrated picture books I've seen. With out any words, each illustration featured through out the book tells more than words could say. Sometimes the best stories are the ones that lack words, but who's pictures capture the emotion and heart of the story better than words ever could. This is a book that has done just that. FLOAT is the lovely story of a boy, a boat, and his rainy day adventure. We loved this book! I except to see a Caldecott award on future publications of this book.
It’s a picture book. I gave this book to my cousin that has a deep connection with paper boats. The book has beautiful illustrations. The storyline is that a boy builds a paper boat... raining begins and then the boat is destroy. Boy gets sad and go home. The father helps the boy build another boy. This book can have many different powerful messages such as; if you fail, build again.
With very few colors and no words, we remember to smile in the bad days, and that there is always a solution for the bad things. Nice illustrations and simple story.

Cute book. My daughter likes it. The artwork is good. It has a page of instructions for a paper boat, which was also super cute.
